When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night, Thy hand was heavy upon me, my vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. I acknowledge my sin to Thee and my iniquity I did not hide, I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord." And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin (Psalms 32:3–5, NASV).
King David, the Psalmist, wrote those valuable words about the stress of carrying a burden of sin. Your health will just go straight down the drain and no person needs that. King Solomon wrote "Be not over much wicked, should you die before your time?" (Ecclesiastes 7:17). And trust the Bible writers, you will die before your time if the burden of sin is weighing you down. Do what is best, take the pressure off, obey God (Hebrews 5:9). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. In Judges 14:8–9, we read that the strong man, Samson, ate honey from the dead body of a lion and then took some of the honey to his parents. The disgusting thing is Samson didn't tell his parents that they were eating honey that was formed inside the rotten carcass of an animal. A good point to learn from this is always to be sure, to the best of your ability, about anything or anyone brought before you (Matthew 27:65, Acts 17:11, Revelation 2:2, Acts 19:13–17, Joshua 9:1–27).
One of the silliest things you can hear is, "I am Jesus Christ!" Reader, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is now in Heaven, and He will not return until He is ready to judge the world. And be assured of this fact that when Jesus Christ makes His return from the sky, there will be no doubt that He is here because every eye will see Him (Acts 1:9–11; Rev. 1:5–8; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–12; Matt. 24:23–27; John 14:1–3). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Planning to visit a church is just like planning to visit anything else. First thing you do is decide where you want to visit, and if there is any information available, you read it so you can know what to expect when you visit (you can obtain information about this church by accessing our Web site at www.mtairychurchofchrist.org). The next step of your inquiry is to pick a date and just go. If you decide to visit us here at the Mt. Airy church, we will be delighted to see you, so come on it and study the word of God with us.
